On behalf of the ISSMO Executive Committee, we are very pleased to announce that the ISSMO/Springer Prize 2021 is awarded to Mr.Yuan Liang: “Explicit control of 3D structural complexity by discrete variable topology optimization method”, by Yuan Liang, Xin Yu Yan and GengDong Cheng, Dalian University of Technology.

ISSMO congratulates Mr. Liang for his outstanding work and this award. The work was praised for bringing in computational topology analysts into structural topology optimization and control structural complexity with mathematical programming.

The EC commended also the other candidates for the high quality of their research works.
