Dr. Aleksey Pichugin is the recipient of 2011 ISSMO/Springer Prize for Young Scientist.

The Prize is awarded to Dr. Pichugin for an excellent presentation and outstanding paper
read at ISSMO’s Ninth World Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization
(WCSMO-9) held in Shizuoka, Japan, 2011.

The title of the presentation is ” “Michell structure for a uniform load over multiple
spans,” coauthored with Andrew Tyas and Matthew Gilbert..

The Prize was handed at a ceremony during the General Assembly
Meeting at the WCSMO-10 in Orlando, Florida USA 2013. After Dr. Pichugin gave
a brief presentation of his winning paper.
