Dr. Ole Sigmund has been selected as recipient of the 1999 ISSMO/Springer Prize for Young Scientist.

The Prize is awarded to Dr. Sigmund for his excellent presentation and outstanding paper titled “Topology optimization of multi-material multi-physics structures”, presented at ISSMO’s Third World Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (WCSMO-3) held in Amherst, NY, USA, May 17-21, 1999.  The Prize was awarded at the General Assembly at the WCSMO-4 in Dalian, China, where Dr. Sigmund presented a brief summary of the winning paper.
