Dr. Muriel Beckers has been selected as recipient of the 1997 ISSMO/Springer Prize for Young Scientist.
The Prize is awarded to Dr. Beckers for her excellent presentation and outstanding paper titled “Topology optimization involving discrete variables”, presented at ISSMO’s Second World Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (WCSMO-2) held in Zakopane, Poland, May 26-30, 1997. The winning paper was co-authored with Dr. Claude Fleury. The Prize will be awarded at the General Assembly at the WCSMO-3 in Amherst, NY, USA, where Dr. Beckers will present a brief summary of the winning paper.
