The call is now open to nominate excellent papers at WCSMO-13 by a “young” researcher (under the age of 35). You are all invited to consider and nominate the works that are primarily conducted and presented at the conference by the young researchers, i.e. the first author must be the nominee and supervisor(s) may be co-authors. Although we do not accept self-nominations, co-authors may nominate their young colleague. The winning paper(s) will be selected by the ISSMO Executive Committee.
Please note that from this year, candidates are not required to have submitted a full paper to the WCSMO-13 proceedings in advance of the congress. Instead, nominated candidates will be contacted by the Secretary General and will need to submit a full paper to the competition by August 31, 2019, if they decide to accept the nomination. The only restrictions on the submitted paper are that (1) it corresponds directly to the nominee’s WCSMO-13 presentation and (2) it has not been accepted for publication in any journal as of May 24, 2019, the last day of WCSMO-13. Nominees are free to pursue publication of their paper submitted to the competition in any journal, however, submission to the SMO journal is encouraged.
The nomination should include a 50 word justification and be submitted by email to the ISSMO Secretary General, Alicia Kim at alicia@ucsd.edu, by July 31, 2019.
